Harry Potter's Catastrophe - Chapter 505
c505 :The third freshmen branch
While they were chatting, the train had stopped at Hogwarts Station. The people getting off the train were as crowded as the ones on the train. They dragged their suitcases and squeezed out of the train.
“First-year students! Come here, come to the lantern!” Hagrid shouted with a loud voice, holding a big yellow lantern high in one hand to illuminate him clearly.
“Good evening! Hagrid!” Harry greeted Hagrid through the crowd.
“Hello!” Hagrid waved his hand. Now was obviously not a good time to chat. Hagrid was counting the number of new students.
They were walking along with the movement of the crowd. Along the platform, students with owls let the owls fly out to lighten their burden. They put their suitcases in the luggage storage area next to the platform. By the time they finished their dinner, their luggage had already arrived at the dormitory. .
Then they headed towards the mountain road on the side of the castle. There were street lights along the way, and there were more than a hundred carriages parked at the destination, all of them Thestrals.
He came late before and only saw a few dozen vehicles. Apparently the school’s Thestrals were more evasive than he thought.
He tried to find the familiar horses and the two thestrals he knew, but there were too many of them, and they didn’t recognize the human Kani either.
They got into a car casually, which was just right for four people.
“What are they?” Harry also saw it. He always thought that the self-propelled carriage might have two reasons. One was that it was enchanted, and there were invisible horses pulling the carriage.
He was more inclined to the latter, but this horse was completely different from what he imagined. They looked really weird, but there was nothing strange in the wizarding world.
“Thestrals are a kind of Pegasus.” Carney said.
Harry and Carney looked at the position in front of the carriage, but it seemed to Ron and Hermione that there was nothing there, no matter how carefully they looked.
The Thestrals walked very smoothly, and they didn’t feel many bumps. After a while, they arrived at the gate of Hogwarts Castle, and the carriage pulled them to the front of the castle.
The next road is more familiar. When you go up the stone steps, you can see the oak door of the castle. Entering is the front hall, and the marble stairs lead to the upper floor.
That’s not where they are going yet. They all have to go to the auditorium on the other side to sit down. Next is the sorting ceremony.
“Granger, follow me first,” a voice called, and they looked up the stairs. It was Dean McGonagall, who was coming down the stairs.
“Okay, you go first.” Hermione seemed to know what was going on, and she followed Professor McGonagall up the stairs.
They entered the auditorium, and the professors had already taken their seats, as well as Principal Dumbledore. After everyone entered the restaurant, they began to take their seats. Their seats would change once every semester, just like their grades, moving up.
After a group of students graduated, they filled up the seats there, and the vacant seats were naturally reserved for freshmen.
“Look, it’s Sirius.” Harry pointed excitedly to the position of the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor, who was none other than Sirius Black in formal attire. He also saw Harry and waved to Carney.
After everyone, including the ghost, was almost ready, Hagrid was seen hurriedly walking into the auditorium from the professor’s passage and sitting next to Professor Flitwick.
Hagrid really became a professor at Hogwarts School. For this reason, he gave the Carneys a big gift before. He planted a lot of grass plants that the Carneys could use. If it weren’t for the Carneys, they wouldn’t be able to raise other animals. Hagrid would probably bring some weird animal.
Hagrid also waved to them happily while arranging his new clothes.
Principal Dumbledore gestured for everyone to be quiet, and then waved his wand towards the ceiling. The ceiling became transparent, revealing the starry sky outside.
This ceiling will only be opened when necessary. It is necessary when school starts. Everyone is wearing black pointed hats.
Then the double doors leading to the foyer of the auditorium opened, and an expressionless Snape led the freshmen who looked curious and young into the auditorium.
Next came the sorting ceremony, and the freshmen looked particularly nervous. They might be thinking about the test of defeating a werewolf or some other monster.
Snape took out a small stool from the side, placed it in the middle, and put a shabby old hat, which was the Sorting Hat.
Putting it on the stool, the Sorting Hat opened its mouth and began to sing:
You may think I’m not pretty,
But never judge a book by its cover.
If you can find a prettier hat than mine,
I could eat myself.
You can make your bowler hat black and shiny,
Keep your top hats sleek and crisp.
I am the magic hat used for testing at Hogwarts.
Naturally, it is superior to your hat.
Any hidden thoughts in your mind,
No one can escape the magic hat’s golden eyes and fiery eyes.
Put it on and try it,
I will tell you which college you should be assigned to.
You may belong to Gryffindor, where there is courage buried deep in your heart,
Their courage, boldness and generosity make Gryffindor outstanding;
You may belong to Hufflepuff, where people are honest and loyal,
Hufflepuff students are stoic and honest, and are not afraid of hard work;
If you are smart, you might join the wise old Ravenclaw,
Those who are wise and learned will always meet their colleagues there;
Maybe you will enter Slytherin, maybe you will make sincere friends here,
But those cunning and insidious people will use any means to achieve their goals.
Come and wear me! Don’t be afraid! Don’t panic!
In my hands (even though I don’t even have one hand) you are absolutely safe
Because I am a magic hat that can think!
After a song, they clapped along with most people. Although the sound was average, they hadn’t heard calluses yet. Judging from the looks of Fred and George, they must be tired of it. This is the school song.
The freshmen began to take turns wearing the Sorting Hat, which decided which college they would be assigned to.
There were only more than 20 freshmen this time. Kenai stared at them all. They were all little wizards with magical abilities. He turned his eyes to the students who had traveled through time. There was still no sign of awakening magical talents. They were pure Muggles.
Maybe Dumbledore could drive these Muggles out, but Dumbledore’s character should not do so. Maybe there would be such a period in the history of Hogwarts. At a certain time, Hogwarts graduated a group of people without magic – Squibs, or Muggles, which made the friendship between wizards and Muggles go a step further. It was a major historical moment that promoted the common development and progress of wizards and Muggles.
The rumbling of hunger brought Carney back to reality. The Sorting Ceremony was over, but Dumbledore still had something to say. There were not many daily matters to pay attention to. However, he still had two things to announce, which were the two new teachers, Defense Against the Dark Arts and Care of Magical Creatures.
