Hogwarts: Voldemort, don't stop me from studying - Chapter 328
c328 New class schedule and arithmetic
When Wade went to the auditorium for breakfast in the morning, he received his class schedule for the new semester.
The timetable is very full, which is completely different from the relaxation of the previous two years. Some courses are completely overlapping.
Counting this morning only, he had divination and arithmetic classes starting at nine o’clock, followed by Transfiguration and Charms classes.
After an overstuffed morning, there was Care of Magical Creatures, Muggle Studies, Defense Against the Dark Arts in the afternoon, and astronomy in the evening.
In fact, for previous students, the time for Divination, Arithmancy and Muggle Studies was all at nine in the morning. Because the overlap rate of students choosing courses is very low, the school can meet the needs of most people with only slight adjustments.
But this year, because of the questionnaire listed by Vader and others, and also because of Professor Abigail’s influence, more students chose Divination and Muggle Studies than before.
Although arithmetic divination also bears the name of “divination”, it has become unpopular.
After all, there are very few students who love mathematics and truly believe that they are good at mathematics. What’s more, most young wizards have not actually received a complete mathematics education. Arithmetic divination textbooks are like heavenly books to them.
Ancient magic texts are slightly better. This is because Vader caused several waves in the magic world with his reputation as a “genius alchemist”, which made many young wizards yearn for it.
Many students who usually have excellent grades have chosen Ancient Magic Texts; to ensure their safety, they also take two elective courses that are easier to pass the OWLsl exam.
In this way, divination and the previously sparse Muggle studies suddenly became overcrowded. It was impossible for Hogwarts to apply for a time turner for everyone, and could only readjust the class schedule that had been followed for hundreds of years.
“Oh my God, Vader!” Michael looked over his head and saw Vader’s class schedule, and immediately exclaimed: “So many classes! Is this hell?”
He looked at the class schedule that he was complaining about just now, and suddenly felt more comfortable with it.
Wade looked at his class schedule again and said, “It’s okay…there aren’t so many classes every day.”
At least there are only four classes in a day.
Even if there are eight classes a day, for Wade, who used to have ten classes a day + morning reading + evening self-study, it actually feels okay.
In the past, he had to attend cram schools and interest classes even on weekends, but Hogwarts courses did not occupy Saturdays and Sundays.
Considering that not every professor will leave homework for every class, and most of the rigorous subjects only hand in papers once a week…
After thinking about it like this, the pressure Wade felt just now disappeared. He put away the class schedule and asked Michael: “Have you finished eating? We’d better leave early. The North Tower is a bit far away.”
“immediately!”
As Michael spoke, he stuffed the remaining boiled potatoes on the plate into his mouth in a few mouthfuls, took another sip of carrot juice, and jumped up from his seat.
Michael and Wade both took Arithmetic Divination as electives, so the two of them walked towards the classroom – the seventh floor of the castle.
As they walked through the hall, they saw Harry, Ron and Hermione running in hurriedly. Michael watched as their figures disappeared at the door of the auditorium, and then turned to ask Wade:
“If I remember correctly, Hermione also has to take arithmetic and divination classes, right?”
“Of course.” Wade said.
“Then she’s just eating now, and she will definitely be late later.” Michael said sympathetically.
The Arithmancy classroom is close to the library. From here, you have to go upstairs, then go around a long corridor, and then climb several flights of stairs to get there.
Even if you don’t get lost in the castle’s swaying stairs, it still takes quite a while to get there.
Wade smiled and said, “Don’t worry, she won’t be late.”
“Huh? No?”
“Yes.” ”How is this done?” Michael asked in surprise.
“Sorry.” Wade shrugged and said, “This is a secret, I can’t tell you.”
Michael touched his chin and narrowed his eyes slightly.
“Is this secret the reason why you can choose twelve courses?” he asked probingly.
Wade smiled and said nothing, but his eyes admitted it without a doubt.
Michael stopped asking. He lowered his head and was silent for a long time. When he was approaching the classroom, he let out a long sigh.
“I regret it,” he said.
“What?” Wade asked.
“I should also choose all classes…”
Michael said angrily: “I originally thought that the school would stagger the time of the classes, or let you make up for the classes that were too late on the weekend. Unexpectedly, the truth may be more interesting than I guessed…”
“It takes so long to take twelve classes and write homework for twelve classes… I think you can endure it for two weeks at most before giving up…”
Wade said with a smile.
He knew very well that Michael had a lazy personality and had never been associated with the word “hard work”.
Michael imagined himself having eight or nine classes a day, shuddered, and silently retracted his previous thoughts.
Not long after the two sat in the classroom, Hermione hurried in. She slammed her schoolbag on the table with an angry expression on her face.
Wade looked at her appearance and guessed that Hermione might have finished her divination class at this time——
Just like he chose to take the arithmetic class with Michael first, Hermione should have taken the divination class with Harry and the others first and heard Trelawney’s prophecy about death.
The two looked at each other and he confirmed his thoughts.
Hermione smiled helplessly at him, but said nothing. She even sat at the other end of the classroom, as if to avoid accidentally passing information about the “Future Divination Class” to Vader.
So Wade also looked away.
The whole classroom was sparse. When class was about to start, there were still no more than ten people. Most of them were Ravenclaws. There was only Hermione in Gryffindor and no Hufflepuff.
To Vader’s surprise, Slytherin’s Theodore Nott also chose this course. He sat alone, flipping through the Arithmancy textbook in his hand.
After a while, a professor opened the door and came in.
The professor of arithmetic and divination is named Setima Victor. She is a female professor with thick black hair and an elegant appearance.
She was wearing a dark red wizard robe and a pointed, cake-cone-like hat. She spoke softly and slowly, with no smile on her face.
“Arithmetic divination is a rigorous science that has been used for more than two thousand years.”
She said in a soft and clear voice: “In this class, you don’t need to touch the crystal ball or look at the moldy tea leaves to make up random things. Our divination rules are based on regular and rigorous mathematical operations, using numbers to explore Human character and destiny…”
