The Fourth Scourge of Star Wars - Chapter 2361
2340, Defense of Parmant Harbor
Parmant Harbor, located on the planet Parmant, was once the largest industrial shipbuilding center of the Confederacy of Independent Systems. The famous Conqueror-class battleship was designed and built here.
Parmant was originally not a very habitable planet, but because the planet has a relatively large underground space and very rich underground water bodies, the aquatic race Quarren can still live in the underground space.
Parmant and another nearby planet called Minntooine established their own Quarren colonies thousands of years ago.
During the Clone Wars, when the Quarren and Mon Calamari had a conflict over whether to join the separatism, some extreme Quarren separatists left the planet Dak. They established the Quarren Encouragement League and formed the Free Dak Volunteer Engineering Corps, and then built their own factories on the planets of Parmant and Minntooine.
Count Dooku provided a lot of funds for the industrialization of these two planets, and the Techno Union also provided them with technical support. Under the secret manipulation of the foreman Walter Tambor, a large amount of warship construction data was stolen from the Kuat Power Dockyard, which had not yet separated from the Techno Union.
Through the analysis of these data, and the fact that the Quarren themselves were also very good engineers, the Freedak Volunteer Engineering Corps quickly grew and developed. Among them, the planet Mintooin built the Resister-class light destroyer for Count Dooku, while the planet Parmenter, which had a larger industrial scale, built the Providence-class destroyer/aircraft carrier and the Conqueror-class battleship.
Later, the Clone Wars ended and the Confederacy of Independent Systems was destroyed. However, because the Galactic Empire was not stable at the moment, Darth Vader did not go deeper, but directly accepted the surrender of other planets in the Confederacy of Independent Systems after conquering the planet Salukami. As a result, the port of Parmenter, located in the rear, was not destroyed by the war, and the shipyard of Mintooin was preserved.
In the following years, the Galactic Empire forced the Quarren to abandon Parment Harbor and Mintooin Shipyard, requiring them to dismantle all these factories and send all the equipment to the planet of Kuat to be received by the Kuat Power Dockyard to expand the scale of Kuat’s industry.
As the defeated Quarren had no choice but to accept. But of course they were also reluctant, and the progress of dismantling and relocation was delayed again and again, and they could never meet the requirements of the Galactic Empire.
In response, the Galactic Empire authorities issued very severe warnings and punishments to the Quarren. However, for the Quarren, the Galactic Empire was very harsh on non-human races like them anyway, so they continued to delay.
So the Galactic Empire adopted a plan of pulling one and stepping on the planet of Dak, and began to win over the Mon Calamari to support them in suppressing the Quarren again and regaining control of the planet.
Later, the Galactic Empire launched a war against the Trade Federation, and the Quarren’s work on dismantling these factories simply stopped.
Now, with the war between the Kingdom of Dawn and the Galactic Empire in full swing, the Quarren have joined the war without hesitation. And their first goal is to recapture the industrial bases they once built – the planets of Parmant and Mintoin!
The Quarren originally wanted to drag the Mon Calamari into the water and call on them to rise up against the Galactic Empire, but they were rejected by the Mon Calamari. Jar-Akbar, who has now become the supreme commander of the Mon Calamari Defense Force, also rejected the invitation of the Quarren leader Noso-Ri and refused to lead the fleet put together by the Quarren.
The fleet used by the Quarren to recapture the port of Parmant was sent by the Given who have now immigrated to the planet Lothal. There are not many of them, and they are not very advanced warships. Many of them are warships left over from the former Confederation of Independent Systems.
Among these warships, there are about 40 battleships and more than 100 small and medium-sized warships. The leader of the Quarren, Prime Minister Noso-Ri, chose Seggor Tels as the commander of this fleet.
Seggor Tels is a fanatical Quarren nationalist who hates the Mon Calamari to the core. His greatest desire is to expel all the Mon Calamari and let the Quarren dominate the planet Dak.
In his early years, Seggor Tels served as a junior officer in the local defense force of the Galactic Republic. After Count Dooku launched the separatist movement, he left the Galactic Republic Army and returned to Dak to become a commander. He also participated in the battle on Dak during the Clone Wars.
Later, he gradually matured, and his reputation in the army and among the Quarren people gradually began to emerge. Although he had no experience in commanding large-scale fleet operations, Prime Minister Noso-Ri still hoped to give him this opportunity to let him grow on a larger stage.
On September 18, Seggor Tels led the fleet to the planet Parmant. The Galactic Empire’s fleet stationed here includes 8 Imperial-class Star Destroyers, 20 Victory II-class Star Destroyers, and a number of small and medium-sized warships.
Originally, the Galactic Empire planned to withdraw the fleet here, but considering that there are a large number of industrial facilities here, in order to prevent these industrial facilities from falling into the hands of the Kingdom of Dawn, they decided to retain the garrison. And ordered the fleet commander to immediately bomb the industrial facilities if the situation is not good to ensure that the separatists cannot get these things.
That afternoon, the fleets of both sides fought fiercely in the outer space of the planet Parmant. Siegel-Ters ordered all warships to assault and enter a close melee state as quickly as possible to prevent the imperial warships from bombing the planet’s industrial facilities.
At the same time, hundreds of transport ships loaded with combat robots and Quarren separatist soldiers broke through the planet’s air defense firepower network and forcibly landed on the planet!
Although the scale of this battle was not large, the battle situation was tragic!
The forces of both sides were not enough to control the outer area of the entire planet, so they were basically unable to stop the landing of the other side. The Galactic Empire’s ground forces of about 200,000 people fought fiercely with more than 10,000 Quarren warriors and more than 50,000 B-1 combat robots deployed by the Quarren.
In order to fight underwater, Siegel-Ters also invested more than 8,000 manta underwater combat robots to assist in the battle. These were all weapons and equipment left by the previous Confederation of Independent Systems.
In addition to a small number of clone soldiers, most of the Galactic Empire Army were human soldiers recruited from other surrounding planets. In order to deal with this attack, they also recruited a group of Quarren and Mon Calamari from the laborers on the planet Parmant, armed them, and fought with their own compatriots.
The battle on the surface of the planet was launched simultaneously on the ground and in the water of the underground passage. Both sides fought without any mercy, and blood flowed like a river for a while.
Siegel-Ters was not a particularly good commander, but the current situation was relatively simple. The only thing he needed to do was to put more warships and troops into it and start a melee with the Galactic Empire!
He vowed to take back the industrial miracle that the Quarren had built! It doesn’t matter how developed the industry on the planet Dak is, because the planets Parmant and Mintoin belong to the Quarren’s own industry!
